A genealogical research library has been established at the Ogunquit Heritage Museum
consisting of books and papers originally owned by the late Charles Littlefield Seaman, historian and genealogist of Ogunquit. It was a dream of his to donate this collection to the Museum and this was carried out upon the settlement of his estate in 2003. To this collection has been added books and archives acquired by the Museum in the four years of its existance. The combined facility is known as the Littlefield Library.

The growing collection currently consists of some 500 volumes of genealogy, family history, town and regional history, vital records, periodicals and maps focused on Maine and other New England states. There are also approximately 25 linear feet of manuscripts, computer printouts family group sheets, biographies.

The establishment of the Friends of the Winn House, a non-profit local group supporting educational efforts of the Museum, has helped the library through grants for books, shelves, file cabinets, computer equipment, and supplies. Memorial donations in memory of Mr. Seaman have also been used to expand the collection.

Littlefield LibraryCharles Littlefield Seaman (1930-2003) a lifetime resident of Ogunquit, was a direct descendant of Edmund Littlefield, immigrant ancestor of Littlefields in New England and other parts of the Country. Charles' interest in genealogy and history led him to establish the Littlefield Family Newsletter, a quarterly genealogical journal, in 1991 and to author three books on Ogunquit history. The Newsletter is carried on today by Peter and Barbara Woodbury of Ogunquit. Charles was a member of several genealogical societies and was a volunteer consultant at the Historical Society of Wells and Ogunquit for many years. He also contributed to the Waves and Furrows newsletter there.

The Littlefield Library is open at its permanent location at the Ogunquit Heritage Museum
and is open by appointment.
