The Museum is located in the Dorothea Jacobs Grant Common, a lovely
park with a large open area and winding paths through wooded areas and
wild flower gardens. A visit at the end of June, will envelop you with
glorious day lilies and the 18th Century Garden at the museum.
Lilacs, bee balm, peonies, phlox, and the scent of lavender, sage and
thyme fill the landscape with beauty and fragrance. 18th Century
gardens were often very practical. Herbs were most important, but there
was always room for bright colored flowers for enjoyment.
The Common is available for events and weddings contact the Dunaway
Center for further information.
